Carriage House Inn

This place is so magical. The hospitality is top tier, attentive and welcoming. The little touches that they have such as a wine hour, snacks, and in room breakfast for guests are the perfect way to care for guests. Parking availability was much appreciated. The room is clean, cozy, and the bed is just dreamy. We loved staying here. Definitely will be back!

We had a wonderful stay. The room was beautiful. We enjoyed the fireplace since it was a stormy, cold evening. The breakfast in the morning was also a really nice touch with local baked goods and plenty of delicious options. The front desk staff was also helpful and friendly. Overall great experience and we will definitely be back!

Amazing place. Comfy beds. Super hospitable. Drinks and snacks stocked and included. They bring you complimentary breakfast - quiche was great. Walking distance to everything including beach. Highly recommend

This charming little inn never disappoints! Just came back from our sixth time staying here and we’re as delighted as ever. Location, room comfort & service cannot be beat. It feels like you’re staying with your favorite aunt and she is trying to spoil you to get you to move closer to her. You’ll enjoy a cozy in-room fire atop your fluffy featherbed and just when you think it can’t get any better, you’ll be served breakfast in bed, complete with fresh roses and gourmet coffee.

This hotel was charming, but in a five star hotel kind of way. Excellent service. We got a glass of wine when we arrived. Complimentary slippers, hydro flask, snacks, coffee, tea, and even a Select-your-a-la-cart complimentary continental breakfast delivered via room service! Walking distance to the beach. Love.

We have the best stay at Carriage House. The location is great and walkable to everything in Carmel. The staff were so kind and welcoming, and overall the vibes are just very cozy and warm. The rooms are nice and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. They added multiple personal touches for our stay (birthday & valentines) that made it really fun and special. The included breakfast in bed service really adds to the experience. Can’t recommend enough!

If you ever plan to come to Carmel, Big Sur, or Monterey, I highly recommend booking a stay at Carriage Inn. We received the warmest welcome from the manager, Michelle, as soon as we walked in. She took us directly to our room and showed us everything and all the room features herself. She made us feel welcome and gave the place such a kind, welcoming, personalized experience. Plus the room itself was lovely, spacious, and clean. The stay came with breakfast — a delicious breakfast that was freshly cooked and individualized to us (they give you a menu every day, and you choose what from there you want to order). Upon arriving, you’re also greeted with freshly home baked cookies (delicious), and the host a nightly (free!) hors d’oeuvres (with wine and a varied spread). Parking and breakfast were included. It was such a convenient location. For visiting Carmel beaches, it’s situated very close to one of the two beach entrances (the least crowded of the two entrances, where we enjoyed a nice sunset). The place is super close to Point Lobos, Bixby Bridge, and Big Sur. Michelle, the manager told us that by showing our room key at any restaurant in Carmel by the Sea, restaurants would give us discounts — and they did!! We made the unfortunate mistake of booking our last night in the area at a hotel in Monterey, and it was awful compared to how lovely everything in Carmel was. If you’re traveling out of the Monterey airport, please consider staying the extra night at the Carriage Inn. You’ll be so close to the airport anyway, and there’s no need to stay in Monterey when you can enjoy such a lovely stay from just a couple of minutes south at the Carriage Inn. I rarely post reviews but this feels too beautiful of a place with the best customer service to not post them a review. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!

Our deluxe room was very spacious and well appointed, with a vaulted ceiling and fireplace. It had plantation shutters, with ample seating and a nice side table used for our delicious breakfast. We were given a menu to select our breakfast choices the night before, which were prepared by a local bakery-fabulous quiche. croissant, and fruit as well. It was brought to our door at the exact time we requested. The lady that assisted us on arrival was delightful , Michelle. I have never written a review before, but was moved to do so by this gem of an accommodation!
